The park land survivor

On December 24  Victoria Gonzalez received a text message from one of her teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland , Florida. Mrs. Ronit Reoven, who taught a class in the building where a mass shooting claimed 17 lives last February, invited Victoria to plant silk flowers in front of the school to honor the victims.
Victoria, a senior, who had lost her boyfriend and best friend Joaquin Oliver in the shooting, quickly agreed. "She felt the school looked quite bare, in which I agreed," Victoria tells
"Once we got there, we spoke about the idea of people maybe following our lead and creating a new memorial, thus our project began."
